Call for Research Projects
The DATAIA Institute is launching the 2020 Call for Research Projects to support multidisciplinary research through the full funding of a research project.
This call is restricted to teams within the scope of the DATAIA convergence institute. Only the laboratories of the partner institutions listed in the financing agreement can be project holders and managers of the allocated funding.
The selected project will benefit from a budget of 220,000 over 36 months, including funding for one to two post-doctoral students.

The MSH Paris-Saclay and the DATAIA Institute are joining forces to launch a call for projects aimed at fostering the emergence of Excellence projects in Data Sciences, Artificial Intelligence and Society, led by researchers in Human and Social Sciences and Digital Sciences within the Paris-Saclay cluster.
The objective is to promote research projects with a high potential on digital technology, led by researchers from different units and disciplines in the Paris-Saclay region.
The selected project will benefit from a budget of €160,000 over 24 months, including funding for one to two post-doctoral students in the human and social sciences.
The submitted projects must be part of at least one of the four interdisciplinary challenges of the DATAIA Institute (see Annex 1 of the call's text, downloadable below), which correspond to Axis 1 "Digital and Humanity" (data and algorithms part) of the MSH Paris-Saclay :
- From data to knowledge, from data to decision
- Machine learning toward artificial intelligence
- Transparency, responsible AI and ethics
- Data protection, regulation, and economy
Deadline for applications: 17 February 2020
In order to promote collaborations between researchers from different scientific fields, the Labex DigiCosme and the DATAIA Institute are launching a joint call for the funding of a research project.
The goal of this approach is to finance large-scale projects, while creating synergies with other objects of excellence on the plateau.
The selected project will benefit from a budget of €260,000, including in particular the funding of two theses or a dissertation and two years of post-doctoral or engineering studies.
The projects submitted must involve at least two research teams belonging to different laboratories and different scientific axes (Appendix 1 for Digicosme, Appendix 2 and 8 for DATAIA).
Deadline for applications: 28 February 2020
