Exploitation of life science data is a major challenge that requires advanced research in Artificial Intelligence. Several radical changes have revolutionized Life sciences in recent years: the high output of experiments and the volume of data produced (gigabytes of data produced in one sigle day), the diversity and complexity of data generated (sequences, images, spectra), and the scale and richness of the questions studied. The management, integration and analysis of biological data is therefore a major issue as well as the design of AI solutions to support life scientists and practitioners in their decisions.

There is a need to better explore the interconnexion between IA and the Life sciences by investigating needs in the Life Sciences where current AI approaches fails to provide answers to life scientists.

Answering such needs may create new research problems and new innovation frameworks for AI researchers and industrials

With the collaboration of its partners, DATAIA organises the DATAIA Workshops « Life Sciences & AI », a series of events that will focus on investigating the current methods and underlying future challenges related to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to better study the wide field of biological and biomedical sciences.

Researchers and professionals from computer science, engineering, medicine and biology are thus invited to share their knowledge and experience: this series of events will provide different approaches to the topic, by giving an academic and industrial point of view, and discussing where the research progresses and what are the industries’ needs.
