More about
Scienta Lab is developing EVA, a proprietary multimodal foundation model dedicated to support drug development in immunology and inflammation. EVA leverages preclinical data of new therapeutic assets to provide early evidence of clinical efficacy in humans, significantly improving the success rates of clinical trials for innovative treatments. In 2023, Scienta Lab raised €4 million from venture capital firms and international business angels to develop a first version of its model to support pharmaceutical and biotech companies. In January 2025, Scienta Lab announced a partnership with the French biotech OSE Immunotherapeutics, to identify patient subtypes likely to respond to specific therapeutic options and extract associated multimodal biomarkers through explainable AI.
Scienta Lab's AI strategy focuses on multimodal modeling of complex biological systems and mechanistic explainability of deep learning models, aiming to transform unsupervised learning into new scientific discoveries. Scienta Lab has a long history of collaboration with Paris-Saclay, a world leading university in mathematics and artificial intelligence. This includes numerous research activities in life sciences as well as in the field of explainable AI with the MICS laboratory of CentraleSupélec, advancing capabilities of Scienta Lab's foundation model.
Through this affiliation, Scienta Lab and the DATAIA Institute will collaborate to advance research in explainable and responsible AI, particularly in the field of precision immunology, fostering innovation at the intersection of artificial intelligence and life sciences.
“Our affiliation with DataIA is a natural step forward in our mission to build interpretable and impactful AI for immunology. We’re thrilled to deepen our collaboration with the Paris-Saclay ecosystem and contribute to cutting-edge research in explainable AI." - Julien Duquesne, Scienta Lab's co-founder & CTO
"Scienta Lab’s unique expertise in multimodal and explainable AI for life sciences makes them a valuable addition to the DataIA ecosystem. This partnership exemplifies the kind of interdisciplinary innovation we aim to foster across AI and scientific research." - Frédéric Pascal, Director of the DataIA Institute
This partnership builds on Scienta Lab’s commitment to building responsible, interpretable AI that supports the development of new personalised medicines in the immunology and inflammation space.
